The sun offers us infinite opportunities to utilize its massive power for the benefit of mankind. Year of research has led to the development of solar cells that provides green energy to a sustainable future. Leveraging a solar system is a one-time investment to becoming self-sufficient when it comes to energy.

Solar cells comprise silicon crystals – when hit by solar radiation, electrons are knocked from their orbit, leaving a vacant space that eventually gets filled by electrons from other crystals. The flow of electrons creates an electrical current that can instantly be used or stored in batteries later. Ongoing research is resulting in more efficient solar cells smaller in size compared to existing cells.

Comparing combustible petroleum and solar energy, one can not help but mention the difference in the supply of one energy versus the other. Our precious fossil fuels do not compare to the limitless amount of solar energy available. If we had the ability to completely capture and process a span of around thirty minutes worth of the total energy produced by our sun, we could power almost the entire world for six months. This speaks volumes about the potential of solar energy as technology advances as the tides of the time are going on and on.

Energy from the sun is pure, clean, and green energy, which is quite unlike the ozone-deteriorating and earth-polluting petroleum we use mostly today. Green energy is any energy type that is generated from natural resources, i.e., sunlight, wind, or water. These energy resources don’t harm the environment by releasing greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. The abundance of light from the sun makes the solar system a perfect choice when considering the monetary and environmental benefits.
